The playoffs? His playoff numbers are really damn good. Outside of Mahomes, what active player has been better in the playoffs the past 5 years?

Joe Burrow is his daddy. He whips him like a dog. That's been established a few times.

Hard to say that the Texans won this trade yet without seeing what they have to give Diggs in a contract. I mean that is the point of this. He will turn 31 this coming season and is in decline. And they are going to have to really pony up I am sure. Not sure if Diggs is the player anymore that I would do this for.

But it is pretty easy to say that the Bills lost no matter what happens. Eating $31m in dead cap is a real kick in the groin and they lose their most talented by far WR.

Dalton Kincaid should be everyone's favorite fantasy TE next year.

A certain risk involved with getting a malcontent ME player who wants to get a raise despite declining numbers and aging. Don't think I would recommend the trade myself. Bills taking that massive dead money cap hit to get rid of him despite their need at WR should be like a neon sign that the guy is a massive headache to deal with.

I'm not totally unhappy with the trade. Would have liked to get more than next year's second but it is what it is. Although it will be a big cap hit this year, it does free up $27 million in cap space in 2025.

This is highway robbery and R*pe.

Diggs is a 2 1sts value player
I think you really overvalue Diggs. He may have been worth a late 1st round pick, but no one was going to pony up 2 first round picks for him.

I think they got a pretty decent deal for him and likely freed up around $20 million. Although I think they will take an initial hit due to the trade date.

I think both teams did alright in this deal, and Houston has a QB on a rookie contract, so they can afford a bit more for a guy like Diggs.

Diggs' production really dropped off as last season progressed.
Here are his completion/yardage figures from week 9 thru the playoffs:

6/86, 3/34, 4/27, 6/24, 4/24, 4/48, 5/29, 4/26, 7/87, 7/52, 3/21

He had more games with less than 30 yards then he had games with over 50 yards. He was basically a non-factor.

IIRC from looking previously at the cap figures, it will cost the Bills a little more cap-wise trading him compared with what it cost to keep him on the roster this season. I'm guessing Beane just had enough of his B.S. and decided it was time to move on.

If Diggs had been a FA and a team had signed him to $19M per year I would have thought it was about right. 2025 picks are worth about 70% of the Draft chart value of 2024 picks. The Texans ought to be in the playoff mix so their picks figure to be below #16 in each round. I'm not saying it's a bad move for the Texans but I wouldn't have wanted to give up much more Draft capital than they actually did.

The 2nd rounder is the Vikings pick.

Could be in the 30s.

I may be wrong here... But my perception of Diggs isn't of the consensus.

There's a difference between "wanting the ball because I know I can help the team win" vs "wanting the ball because I'm building my brand". Diggs strikes me as the type that just wants to help the team win. Even if his tactics are abrasive.

If I were the Steelers I would have gladly given up 2 day 3 picks for him.

This is coming from a fan of a team that knows drama when it comes to WRs.

Thank you. I didn't realise that. It's a bit more expensive than i'd be happy with. At least they're getting some low picks back.

What's the over/under on when Diggs starts screaming at Stroud on the sideline? Dude's a crybaby little bitch and fell off the proverbial cliff last season about halfway through.
