This year may be the shining examples to make GMs realize trade deadline moves aren't worth it unless you're trading for a superstar.

If Laviolette is truly a good playoff coach, he will have his defensemen hitting Kane hard into the boards (but legally) at every opportunity! All's fair in love, war, and playoff hockey! No doubt such a hit will get retaliation by the Hawks, but the Preds MUST do this if they have the heart and guts to go deep in the playoffs. And, in case you're wondering, THIS is why teams only describe players' injuries as "upper body" or "lower body"... so opponents cannot target a player's weak spot.

game 1's are usually the get to know you game, lots of hitting.

Dont like the call on Vermette, he only got three games with Kane before Kaner got hurt. Richards has played most of the year with him and they never really found a good rhythm. Honestly I would sit Versteeg over Vermette. But Q thinks he will get a spark from Vermette down the playoff road.

Shouldnt be worried about hurting anyones feelings, neither will be in Chicago next year, just think Vermette has more to offer. I think Vermette thrives on the PK, uses the momentum from not giving up a goal and it translates on the offensive game.

But then again, Vermette might be what he was in Arizona, the best player on a weak team.

Both teams ended on droughts. Hawks losing final 4, preds losing final 6, both teams might be looking at their next opponent.

not a new idea from them though ... they did it in 2011 when they faced the canucks and i believe have done it since

its no big deal ... i dont expect you to know that seeing as youre a leafs fan and you probably tune out when the playoffs start
