Brain Fart, I meant Huff not Belt. Swamp Thing is Fonty.

whiteside's fault.

Can't see both Riot and Fonty on the same roster, unless one of them is starting in place of crawford or sanchez.

Oh, I can. Riot is RH, Swampy is LH. Riot can play SS and 3B; Swampy can play 2B and SS. They're complementary and vets -- Boch will want them both. Burriss is the odd guy out, IMO.

Supposedly (per the Merc/Twitter) Barry Zito's first pitch came in at 82mph. I'm down on bended knee hoping he can get that mph up.....

82 mph, but with a shitload of "new" movement right? Like a Charlie Hough knuckler?

Hembree 1-2-3 ninth.

Of note: Melky's leadoff HR in the first was CRUSHED. Whiteside's RBI single with two outs was interesting b/c Swampy scored from second, Stamos went from first to third and when Eli tried to move up on the throw to third he was out at 2B easily.....

WhitesidesFault.

From Pavlov's Blog today:

Interesting that Crawford always hits down near bottom of the order, regardless of the rest of the lineup. I’d think they just want him to get used to the eight spot, where he’ll likely be almost all year.

Is spring training like NFL preseason where they start playing the starters more in the later games?

There was a game on last night and I didn't recognize a bunch of guys out there and I'm curious if it will be worth tuning into or not.

Yeah spring training really comes in like 3 phases.

First phase, main guys start for about 3/4 innings then in come the non-roster/prospects for the rest of the game. This last about 1-2 weeks.

Second phase, rosters thin a little, guys are cut or sent to minor league camp, main candidates for 25 man roster begin to play longer periods of time (some begin to play full 9 innings). (2-3 weeks)

Third phase, rosters really thin out and only guys who have a realistic chance at making the roster remain (and a bunch of catchers). Typically down to about 40 guys. Starters are the main guys and play ~6 innings, sometimes full game. Starting pitchers get lined up into their rotation spots. (usually the final week).

Then the regular season begins. So, if you want to see what the team will look like most, watch later in the spring. If you want to see the young guys, watch early.

Thank you my good sir, that was exactly what I was lokking for.

I will tune in later, hopefully then I won't see any asshats in the outfield dropping balls that my grandma could catch.
