Ameer Abdullah is the best back in the NCAA right now. Period.

He really might be the best player in CFB and I'm not kidding. Seriously he is potentially the best in the country. Let's revisit this thread when he wins the Heisman.

:dhd:

Totally understand the list. Lots of major game impacting players from 2013.

For UW, I think Hau'oli Kikaha, Shaq Thompson, and John Ross could be 1st team PAC players in 2014. Budda Baker could have that out of the gate breakout season like Myles Jack did.

Shaq Thompson.... Petersen is drooling over having this level of talent.

:hope:

That is the least star power list I have seen in years.

There is not one player that stands out like a superstar.

You do realize that there are 17 players ranked above the guy with the most YPC in NCAA history, right? Either there is a shit-ton of talent and/or this list is horribly underrating Melvin Gordon.

Also, Brasky's completely correct that it's a disgrace Abdullah isn't ranked.

Disagree.

I'm happier to see Randy Gregory (DE) ranked than Abdullah. Double teaming Gregory will free up another player to step up.

Abdullah is a tough/workhorse back, but lacks breakaway distance runs. He's most experienced, but may not be the best RB on Nebraska's roster. Nebraska hasn't had that breakaway distance back since Ahman Green.

Abdullah ran a 4.47 at the pro day simulation according to people with "sources". Like I said, take that one at face value.

He has some of the best change of direction ability of any back I've seen at Nebraska. Very similar to Gio Bernard.

He can't get past DB's.

The only big run I've seen him break was Illinois last season. Even then he got caught at the goal line. Another 4 yards he doesn't score.

He's a good back. He adds more than Burkhead did. Not Heisman quality tho, IMO.

I'd rather Gregory has a huge year than Ameer.

Isn't that the equivalent of like a legit 4.6? :laugh3:

At :25 was his only break away run of those highlights, and he got caught at the goal line.

I'll take the 6 YPC average all day tho.

Especially if Gregory can get the Blackshirts back in form.
