South Carolina suspends Frank Martin

Who didn't see him at KSU and didn't know this was going to happen one day. I bet this is not the last.

South Carolina athletic director Ray Tanner announced on Thursday that coach Frank Martin has been suspended for Saturday's game at Mississippi State because of "inappropriate verbal communication" with an athlete.

Martin was caught on camera during Tuesday's loss to Florida cussing at freshman guard Duane Notice -- apparently yelling "Answer the f-cking question, a--hole!"

South Carolina is 11-19 overall, 4-13 in the SEC.

This is the first suspension of Martin's career.

I've seen tons of coaches curse at players.

However, Martin is a hot-head. When you scream and yell all the time, you're not going to get a lot of wiggle room with this.

I assume the AD gave Frank a warning or two before he lowered the boom.

I think all coaches drop lots of f bombs....but Martin has the veins popping on his forehead and neck...spit coming out his mouth. He gets behind issuing his ass chewing's.

He had to apologize a few weeks ago for a rant at another player, so yeah, his leash was a little short.
But this week he beat Kentucky by being the coach that he is, so I hate to see him punished for being that coach just a few days later. What exactly do we want? I say we want wins, however the fuck that asshole can get them (within the rules).

Just hope he doesn't have a cardiac attack on the court. Or, like in the news the other day ( i.e. heart attack and stroke most likely several hours after an anger outburst), when he gets home after the game.

If this is a universal standard for all college sports, Bo Pelini would be suspended for the entire last season.

Yes, the entire game Martin was really giving it to his team as they were unable to or indifferent to guarding the Florida shooter, Michael Fraizer, who hit 11 of 18 3-point shots and every one of them were good looks at the basket. Billy Donovan would have been upset as well. I'm sure the Florida coach would have handled it differently as it seemed to me Martin was berating his players. South Carolina, at home just after beating Kentucky, had high hopes for pulling off the upset win over the Gators and got beat by 24. I can see why Frank Martin was just a tad upset with his team. Seems to me his AD is sending him a message and the next message just might be his leaving South Carolina so if I were him, I would tone it down some.
