To be clear, I’m not saying that is his goal but I am saying it is what he has produced. The path has been laid for years now. Whatever the reason is, the reason is But you can’t dispute what has happened for decades. When you pick in the 20s most years and you resign all of your own players to huge deals (until the last couple years) and forego other free agents because you resign the players that make you pretty good, but not good enough amd don’t have the cap space to bring in big time free agents like other teams, you laid your path. You either go for it or you don’t And in a world where it used to be super bowl or bust that isn’t good enough Or at least shouldn’t be, but to many it is

This is the first year in a long time that we have gotten nothing year 1 out of our draft picks. Looks like they will take some time to develop. I think the TE looks like an NFL player. Maybe not a second rounder but I’m not sure how exactly to judge that. Overshown appeared to be the one guy that was going to have an immediate impact, but the preseason injury screwed that up.

Me too. I think sometimes people get too hung up on scheme and come up with reasons why good players aren’t good picks.

I’m still concerned with our run down LB play. Let’s see if Evans plays more this week. Bell is too small to take on an OG and hold his ground and make the tackle at the LOS but he has been absolutely amazing The last few weeks. One of the biggest come out of nowhere surprises of the season along with the kicker.

You forgot about the great 2000 draft of Dwayne Goodrich and Kareem Larrimore. LOL

Goodrich never had the speed or talent to play at a top level in the NFL. Larrimore had the talent and speed but he was a head case Derek Ross was the same way sad deal on both players who could have had careers but as it is with lots of young men they think they know it all and can’t be bothered with superior coaching from men that know what it takes and can help you maximize your talent.
