I know I am. I don't know how well they'll fare, but IMHO, they did what I don't think any other team could have done, in beating the Caps and Pens in back to back series.

Obviously they're doing it with great defense, and outstanding goal tending, but can they keep it up?

Has an 8 seed ever won it all?

How many of you think they can and will win the cup?

really? No love for your own conference? I hated the habs right after they beat the Caps, but the more i watched them going forward, in the series w/ the Pens, the more i appreciated them.

I'd love nothing more than to see the habs win the cup.. It's been a while. 93 or 4.

I actually could see the habs beating the 'Hawks in the same way they beat the Caps and Pens..great D and outstanding goal tending.

The Hawks don't have the best D or goal tending.

I dont

this is just me but it seems like if the Habs make it through it feels like Canucks/Islanders 1982 all over again (not that Hawks or Sharks are perennial dynasties like the Isles were).

Detroit's the only team that I could make a case for.

I can't think of a d man on the Hawks that Moen would walk around for that short handed goal like he did to Gonchar. That was a pathetic play to say the least.

ill go as far as saying its one of the worst defensive plays I can remember seeing

at least Alfie had an excuse because he was a forward

Those plays were very similar but like you said Gonchar is a D man for gods sakes. That was just horrible on his part.

Okay. You caught me. I haven't watched enough of the hawks to really evaluate their D. I have watched enough to know they don't have the best goal tending, and a lot of times that's do to shoddy D in front of the goalie.

I don't have a youtube link, but i can tell you the 2nd goal Mike Green gave up in game 6 or 7 is right up there with the worst.

Can't remember the game, but Green was responsible for both goals the Habs had. the first goal was a result of a horrible penalty on green that created a 4-3 for the Habs.

The 2nd goal is the one I previously mentioned that green had great position on the guy with the puck, but he skated right around Green and scored. I'll see if i can find a clip.

I'll definitely be pulling for the habs now. when i was living in Sicily, I made some really good friends from Montreal who are die-hard habs fan (of course)

last time i checked huet's stats in the regular season his save percentage was below .900 and he had like a 2.45 goals against average. the hawks do not give up a lot of shots or scoring chances. their defense is what makes them able to win without a great goalie.

I may be wrong, but i don't even think huet's played much, if at all in the playoffs.

I don't know much about defense because my team never shows me :(

Sometimes, but not always, I have a hard time cheering for a team that beat my team in the playoffs. I bet I would have trouble especially after 7 game series.

I'm pulling for Montreal. I can't see them losing now. I really can't. They're playing so hard and so well, and they're all on the same page. They're the team that looks most like they're clicking, in my opinion.
