The only problem is the horrible contradictions involved.

We all believed the story in 2006 that Michigan was purposely devalued to avoid a rematch.
The BCS did not want a rematch. We accepted that.

We all believe the story in 2004, 2007 and 2009 that LSU/Texas/Bama had the most IMPRESSIVE WINS. Auburn, TCU, Boise and others were kept out because of lesser wins.
The BCS wanted the team with better wins. We accepted that.

We all believed the story in 2008 that Texas was kept out because they did not win the Big 12.
The BCS did not want non-champions. We accepted that.

The BCS standards were established.
1. NO rematches
2. ONLY Champions
3. Resume WINS are more important than resume LOSSES.

Then out of the blue, 2012 Alabama gets in:
1. Rematch of home loss
2. Non Champion
3. Resume was on the strength of better loss

if you take off the homer glasses, you can see how many were a bit outraged by that year.
Alabama was probably the best team. But, they did not deserve to even play the game.

awful analysis. the things that you claim were established were not established at all. the only thing that has been established is that the two best teams play each other at the end of the season for the title. conference champions, rematches, etc. are all parts of the equation, but that's it. just part of it.

just look at how dumb your last two sentences are. the whole point of the BCS is to match up the 2 best teams against one another. that is it. not the 2 best conference champions, or the 2 best teams that haven't played each other yet.

there have been tons of times when the winner of the ncaa tournament was not a conference champion. i don't see people bitching about that.
