What happens to the 2021 NFL draft? Does it go on as always, but based on just performance through the junior year?

Without football, how many guys graduate, and what kind of shape are they in?

Will guys just screw college ball and try to make it as free agents when the NFL starts up?

There would be a draft, but teams would have to draft based on prior year results and workouts. It would be interesting.

All depends on what the NCAA does as far as counting 2020 towards a year in school

MLB has said that this year counts whether they play or not

I guess the draft also depends on the NFL changes the rules for drafting players Right now they

To be eligible for the draft, players must have been out of high school for at least three years and must have used up their college eligibility before the start of the next college football season. Underclassmen and players who have graduated before using all their college eligibility may request the league’s approval to enter the draft early.

Players are draft-eligible only in the year after the end of their college eligibility.:suds:

NFL draft...because it's based on the number of years removed from their HS graduating class as you've noted...Idt it will matter what the NCAA does with their 2020 CFB season.

Definitely will be a draft.

W/O football how many graduate...I think maybe more would graduate since they didn't have anything else to do.

Of course it will. Why is this a question? Maybe the pro day workouts and combines are a little more important to make sure guys didn't get fat :noidea:

If there is no CFB it is in play. Young QB developed for a year in a good organization while the rest of the QBs in the draft haven't played for a year. Sunshine would obviously still go first but you'd figure one QB needy team might toss a first.

In terms of the draft, we already know 2 of the top 5 picks for sure.

Probably after the first 20 picks you'd start seeing people just drafting based almost purely on upside.

So if there's no college football, do players lose their scholarships? Are players required to take 30 credits like everyone else? There has to be accountability and you can't have 100 football players taking a year off. Facilities are off limits.

I have a college player living in my house and he got a work out routine from the trainer that he has to follow and report back. He was already surpassing what they want and has been running two miles every morning at a local high school track and then runs his pass routes ten times each. Then he comes home and goes down cellar and does weight work for an hour. The head coach has called him twice and told him that the football is still expected to report to school on August 13 for two weeks of training and that the only preseason game is still on as scheduled on August 29. First game of the season is the following Saturday September 3.
