Would things be any better? Who would be in the Championship game? I'd think without playoffs, FSU would still be #1 but maybe not. I don't see a lot of difference between the top 6 or so teams, so just the top 4 isn't tough but the top 2 is.

2001 Nebraska didnt play in the BIG XII title game, played for bcs title.
2003 Oklahoma lost the BIG XII title game, played for bcs title.

2008 1 loss OU made the title game

But now that we're down to the Conf. champ games, I think we're seeing that 4 teams is not enough.

I think we're seeing (for the most part) the Conf. Champ games serving as a de-facto 1st round of the playoffs.

I do too Auburn has been screwed too many times in the past and it almost happened in 2010 & 2013. We would probably have at least one more national championship by now between:
