Posey - the backbone of all 3 WS.
Bumgarner - gave us a glimpse in 2010, was a part of all 3 WS and then did something I’ve never seen before in all of baseball in 2014.
Mays - Goat? Nuff said
Bonds - has a higher OPS than Nick Lowery. Nuff said

Only because Nick let him. He's humble that way.

Have to go with Mays, Bonds, Posey, Bumgarner bevause they were the heart of the 3 WS ... have to add Bocy because he was the captain that guided us there.

But for oldtimes sake i have to say Marachial was the best Giant pitcher I ever saw ...

Can’t argue. All quality picks. I went with Boch over Bum because Boch really was the glue to those teams that allowed us to win EVERY round in the playoffs, while being the dogs EVERY time.

That still blows me away. 3 playoff runs where we were expected to lose every series, yet walked away with the trophy every year.

6 heads don’t fit. The fun of the exercise is looking not only at the names who made it, but also the tough choices on those who didn’t.

Who are your FOUR?

The title says "SF ERA" so I'm thinking SF pitchers only

Marichal
Perry
MadBum
Nen

Honorable mention to Panda
Nice catch. Auto-correct can be sooooo frustrating.

Seems like everyone here agrees on Mays/Bonds/Posey. And there is a debate between Bochy and Bum for the 4th spot. I am a bit surprised McCovey didn’t get more love, but at the end of the day, I get it. Bochy/Bum have the hardware.

I mean, McCovey is a better player than both Posey and Bum, but I think it’s a mix of hardware and recency bias. If I saw Willie Mac play I may have a way different opinion. The back of his baseball card is elite.

Mostly agree except managers can't be on there, their impact is far less than the great players.

Mays Bonds Posey Clark would be mine (maybe Bum for Clark)

As a general rule I’d agree, but Bochy is definitely an exception. He’s won 3 (4 total) WS Championships with two different orgs and was an underdog in every single one of them.

Sure just my personal rule. In baseball especially, a good manager is nice, and Bochy is perhaps the best at getting postseason success from teams that need the help, just feel like if I only get 4 slots they are going to players.
