Interesting article by Seattle PI. I will post the link at the bottom but incase you're too lazy to go through the slides I will basically post the entire article on here.

1. Seattle was the second best "Global City" in a ranking of 61 cities worldwide, in a look at economic development by the Martin Prosperity Institute at the University of Toronto.

2. Freaking out: A Gallup poll found Washington to be the 11th most stressed out-state in the country, in which 42 percent of residents said that had recently felt stressed out.

3. Seattle drivers among the worst: Allstate's annual study of car crashes found Seattle to be one of the most dangerous cities for driving. Seattle drivers average an accident every 7.8 years, a rate higher than the national average of one crash every 10 years. That put Seattle at a dismal 160th place on a list of 200 cities for safest drivers.

4. We're a healthy bunch: Seattle was the second healthiest city in NerdWallet's ranking of most salubrious cities. "With a high fitness index, comprehensive health insurance and very clean air, it's clear why The Emerald City made it on our list," the site wrote.

5. Super snobs: Seattle tied for fifth place in a list of America's top 20 "snobbiest cities," for which Travel + Leisure looked at trendiness, aloofness and "highbrow culture." Wrote T+L: "In this city of coffee connoisseurs and tech-savvy early adopters, it can be easy to feel hopelessly out of step."

6. Hot for jobs: Career site bright.com ranked Seattle No. 1 for the number of job openings per residents for the month of August, and No. 2 for wage growth. Seattle's job market is generally more robust than that of many major American cities.

7. Bad for beer: Seattle may be known for great craft brews, but NerdWallet found Seattle to be one of the worst cities for beer drinkers. How's that? The career site crunched the average cost of Heineken in big U.S. cities and ranked Seattle No. 8 for priciest Heineken six-pack. ($8.61).

8. Great for recent college grads: The same NerdWallet study that dissed Seattle for pricey beer also praised Seattle for job prospects. It ranked the city as second best for young job seekers, saying it has a "Great social scene, with the second most bars per capita and a highly walkable layout."

9. The University of Washington has struggled for state support, while enjoying a prestigious No. 27 ranking among the world's top 100 universities in a 2013 list by The Times Higher Education and Thompson Reuters.

10. Lonely Seattle: Seattle was the fifth-loneliest city in America, according to a study by health and wellness site Sharecare. The site based its ranking on answers by 250,000 people to a survey that included questions about friends, families and "strong social ties."

11. Mean dogs: Seattle tied for the No. 2 city for most dog attacks on mail carriers, with 42 canine assaults in 2012, according to the U.S. Postal Service.

12. Least foul-mouthed: Washington was the most polite, least foul-mouthest state in the nation, said a study of phone calls by mobile ad firm Marchex. The company reviewed 600,000 calls to businesses for obscenity.

13. Take a walk: Seattle was the eighth most walkable city in America, according to an annual ranking by Walk Score. The group looks at pedestrian routes and neighborhood amenties.

14. What's that yellow orb?: Seattle was the fourth American city with the least amount of sunshine, in a list compiled by city-data.com. Bellingham was No. 1, followed by Everett and Shoreline.

15. Get yer earplugs: Seattle Seahawk fans were the loudest football fans in the world, after reclaiming the Guinness World Record for crowd noise in December of 2013. That was after the 12th man won the title in September, lost it to the Kansas City Chiefs fans, and won it back in December against the Saints at CenturyLink Field.

16. Loud, but flaky: The 12th man may be loud, but an Emory University study found Seahawks fans to be the 10th worst NFL fans. The study took the long view in looking at the "Sticktoitiveness" of fans throughout good times and bad.

17. Best flush in Seattle? Luxury restaurant Canlis may be known for fine dining and service, but it claimed a different feather in 2013, with the title for "America's best restaurant bathroom." That accolade came from the site The Daily Meal, which praised Canlis' hopper as "jaw-droppingly stunning."

18. Like booze and taxes? Washington was No. 1 for highest liquor taxes, largely due to a hefty, 41.2-cent-per-drink tax on spirits, found NerdWallet. But beer and wine have relatively low state taxes (7 cents and 3.5 cents a drink, relatively).

19. Drink up, part 2: Travel + Leisure crowned Seattle the "best city for coffee in America." IT said: "Even without omnipresent, homegrown Starbucks shops, this town of brainy locals was a no-brainer to win the coffee championship again, thanks to the sheer numbers of cozy coffee bars, roasters, and drive-through espresso shacks."

20. Best airport manners: Sea-Tac Airport staff had the best customer service among airports worldwide, according to the 2013 Skytrax World Airport Awards. What is that? We're not sure either, but it calls itself "the global benchmark of airport excellence."

Pretty interesting. I think a lot of it is highly accurate but some of it is off. I have had a of negative experiences with Sea-Tac workers, but a few good ones as well.

Why would they use the price of the worst beer ever made to determine if it is good for beer drinkers, here?

Nice list. Local pride is definitely important. It's also important to recognize shortcomings. This list accomplishes both.

What kind of law do you practice?

Next time I'm down in Seattle I'll have to check out Canlis' restroom. Hoping for a pleasant pooping experience.
