My wife and I watched the last 3 innings of this game and I don't know if he threw more than 1 ball that whole time. Crazy fun to watch!!!! Then with a 2-2 pitch and 2 outs hitter leaned into the ball which was almost in catchers glove and got hit on the elbow. Cheap move, but legal.

Still got No-No though.

Sucks he lost it because of a hit batsman in the 9th. I'm a Braves fan, but if the Nats have to win, I'd just assume history be made. I guess it was with the no hitter, but nothing beats perfection.

He has 2 straight complete games while giving up 1, yes 1, hit in 18 innings.

It's baseball... A hitter's job is to get on base... If it means taking one for the team, then he did his job...

I remember Schilling throwing a no-no into the 9th and he gave up a bunt single... Schilling and his teamates called it bogus... Brought up the unwritten rule, etc...

That's baseball, the hitter's job is to get on base... I have no problem with a hitter trying to get on base at all cost... I wish the Mariner's took that same approach...

I disagree with that when it is 2 outs with 2 strikes in a 5-0 game and you drop your elbow to get hit. Cheap. Legal, but cheap.

I don't see it as cheap. The game isn't over until the 27th out.

I watched the Schilling game and if I remember right it was 1-0 or 2-0 and a bunt is different to me than dipping your elbow and creating the hit...which is actually illegal so I spoke wrong earlier. You cannot intentionally get hit by a pitch or create the contact.

That HBP may look cheap, but 9/10 when a pitch comes inside like that, the natural reaction is to bring the hands in like he did. When you bring your hands in, your elbow naturally drops. Slow-motion makes the HBP look like something that it is not.

I was watching it. He dropped his elbow down to make contact. Nothing to do with his hands in this case. Was pretty obvious. He got away with it so it is what it is.

I'm not in favor of throwing at players, but I'm okay with someone throwing at Jose Tabata tomorrow.

So much good pitching this year. It's mind boggling. Felix, if we take off our homer glasses and are being realistic, is not even in the AL CY discussion right now and he is having a great year. I was looking at K/IP stats today. There are 21 starting pitchers with at least 10 starts who are averaging better than a strikeout per inning. 21. 10 years ago there might have been 3.

I bet that would not be your opinion if Scherzer was still pitching D'Backs. What do you have left to show for Scherzer? Daniel Hudson, trying to comeback from a second Tommy John, Zack Borenstein who will never amount to anything, Joey Kehbiel who might be a decent middle reliver in a year or two, and Todd Glaeesman who will never be anything. Yeah, I would probably be bitter if i was you too.

That was a shit move by Tabata. He should expect one in the back next time he plays the Nats.

Oh the memories.......this one takes me back to the CBS days when the truth is spoken and they come at you personally. LMAO! Thanks PV!

I'm hoping that guy responds so that we can see @PolarVortex feast on him on like the good old days at CBS.

The battles between him and Kagezilla were great. Liked them both as posters, thought it was hilarious watching the two of them go at it.

Actually it's not legal but it's a judgement call for the ump which is rarely called. Part of the rule states that the batter has to attempt to avoid being hit or have no opportunity to do so. Neither was the case here. Imo, he clearly dropped his elbow in an attempt to be HBP.

He didn't bring his hands in. He lowered his hands and arms and elbow down to where the ball was headed. It was clearly intentional. The ball misses him by a foot if he doesn't move.
