I think the Chiefs may be heading for a bit of a letdown this season, after a surprising 11-5 last year. Too many losses of quality players, too quiet a FA period, and too much needed for the draft to make that big of an impact right away*. And the schedule is brutal. Chiefs 8-8 this year.

*As I recall, one of the biggest needs for the Chiefs is at WR, and this year's draft happens to be deep at WR, so I could be wrong about impact players for the Chiefs in the draft.

It's all about the OL, if they can hold up they can be a 10+ win team.

That O-line can definitely make or break the season. What are your thoughts on the Chiefs draft? Will they go after a WR or two?

Marquise Lee has been on the Chiefs radar as far as i know for quite a while now...

DEFINITELY going receiver. we'll see how Albert's leaving will affect us, though. still, in my mind i think IF they can adeqautely replace LG they're a 10 win team...

If it's between Lee and Cooks I think I'd go with Lee since he's taller and not all that much slower, plus he's a solid route runner. I wouldn't mind seeing them take the best available OG in the 3rd. Dozier maybe.

meant to say LT in my earlier post. in all honesty i'm waiting to see how Reed is going to fill that void because it's a big and important one. still, i'm cautiously optimistic...

Too much depends on the draft to be totally sure on much. Could argue going 9-7 will be more impressive than 11-5 was last year due to the superficially difficult schedule. I only say superficial because of how quickly the dynamics can change in the NFL. Remember when the Texans, Redskins, Giants, and Cowboys all looked like possible, if not probable losses last year?

I am fine with drafting a guard, but I will flip shit if we draft one in the 1st round. That drives me crazy when teams draft guards that high.

i doubt they will. need for WR is way too great imo. 'sides, you can find decent guards in the 3rd round in most drafts...

A shame because it looked like Emmanuel Sanders "agreed" to terms ( didn't sign though) and he shopped it. Would have been nice to justify going with the BPA even if it isn't a WR like Lee.

I think anybody in the AFC West going 10-6 or better will be pretty impressive. The AFC West looks good (even the Raiders look a bit improved) plus the NFC West could be brutal. I would say 10-6 or better wins the division this year.

Plus the Raiders aren't two sure wins anymore so that will even overall records out some. Somebody on ESPN threw out a mock trade of KC/Texans where KC gets the 33rd and 65th picks for the 23rd pick. That might be a nice idea if so. They could still take a WR like Robinson or Latimer at 33.

I agree the Raiders are improved as far as the talent on their roster is concerned. Schaub is as good as QB as they've had in over a decade, and they signed some FAs that are upgrades. But I also think it is fair to say their level of competition this season looks higher than last year's as well. To a ridiculous degree. Just in their AFC West slate alone they will be playing 6 games against 2013 playoff teams. Factor in the NFC West where even the 3rd place team went 10-6 and the 7-9 Rams would likely have been 9-7 or better in a lessor division and I don't see the Raiders improvements showing up in the W/L column. With that said, their GM has not had a full deck since his arrival. Now he does, and even though they face a daunting schedule this season, the Raiders really are primed to turn the corner in 2015 and beyond.
