For what I believe to be the first time in history, one conference will have a representative in all five New Years Day bowl games: the SEC has five teams playing on that date & one more playing on December 30th.
Two of those teams will be playing for a shot at advancing to the National Championship Game a week later.
The next highest is the ACC with one on New Years & two on the 30th, with one of those teams fighting for a chance to go to the title game.
The Big 10 has one team on New Year's & two on December 30th, but no title contenders.
The Big 12 has one on New Year's & one on the 30th, with one title contender.
The AAC has one on New Years & one on the 30th, then indies have one on New Years, and the Pac-12 have none that day, but do have two on the 30th.
