Red Sox don't fool around. I like their ambition. M's on the other hand.....well they are good at having their name mentioned in every rumor before losing out. And I know he was never coming here or a target of M's, but a good bat is a good bat.

I love that the Red Sox are becoming the Yankees and over spending on a few great players instead of building a solid foundation of good players.

I'm hearing and reading alot of conflicting reports. Just sign already and be done with it so Seattle can move on to their next near miss.

I see him taking Ortiz' spot at DH when he finally retires. He's pretty athletic for a big dude, but he's not gonna be able to stay at third base his whole career.

He was nails in the playoffs. But thats not the type of production you get from him all year. I think they paid a premium cause of his playoff performance.

Agreed, although it'll be interesting to see how 81 games at Fenway impacts his production. The ballpark in San Fran is huge compared to Fenway.

I personally think they gave Sandoval way more than he is worth. Don't get me wrong, he's a good bat, but not remotely near worth what they paid him. As for his home/away production, last year he hit significantly better at home (.774 OPS) vs. (.706 OPS) on the road.

It's funny that the Yankees get shit for "buying" their wins, yet the Red Sox and Dodgers don't.
