Definitely added a lot of talent.

The depth chart on espn.com has Matt Kemp playing CF. Not sure if that's accurate, but I'm not sure that Kemp is up to that at this point.

Gyorko turning things around also figures to be pretty important for the Padres. He really showed a lot of promise two years ago. Not so much last year.

Yeah, the Padres are going to be a good team next year but I wouldn't crown them anything just yet.

The playoffs are about pitching and defense. And usually, the pitching is only as good as the defense.

The Padres defense this year will ensure they have about a 0.000034% chance to win the Series in '15.

SD will not be a 'surprise' if they make the playoffs, they are quite loudly taking a shot. Won't be a surprise if Miami or Toronto or the Chisox or Cleveland make it either.

Some teams that would be genuine surprises, but have an actual shot at doing that? Cubs, Astros, Rangers
