BOBBY MCCAINDB, WASHINGTON FOOTBALL TEAM

Washington signed S Bobby McCain, formerly of the Dolphins, to a one-year contract.

28 in August, McCain registered 46 tackles, five passes defensed and one interception across 16 games in his first season back from a torn ACL with Miami last year. It's possible this move signals the end for either Troy Apke or Landon Collins in Washington.

Should be our new FS with Reeves backing up. Apke is probably cut now. SS should be Collins and Curl. If we keep 5 safeties which we probably will it would be Everett b/c of St's.

Good or bad
Meh, small guy didn't stand out last year and let go for a reason. Since Collins apparently has to be on the field due to contract, I would love to see him paired with Curl who "just makes plays" all over the field.

with cap situations, I expect more veterans to be released, not crazy about McCain, but I don't work for Synder so......

I don't know what they are gonna do this year, but this is the best I've felt about the team in a long time heading into a season.

He was a team captain for a reason. Reeves is small too. Its great insurance for Reeves or he will just beat Reeves out. Is Curl a true FS? On passing downs we could use 2 lbs being Davis and Collins and 5 db's

maybe Collins is a surprise training camp cut.

What a difficult situation, we probably can't even get anything for him via trade, so we have to hope he and Curl can co exist

Collins cant cover. Its as simple as that. He’s a light linebacker. A tweener. Faster than a linebacker, slower than a free safety should be, and pretty good at helping in run support.

If he wont out-and-out switch to lb full time - weakside at that, where he wouldnt have as much coverage responsibilities,- then he should be a sub package safety. Maybe if he has to cover quarters, or cover 3. Anything else is just begging offenses to flood his zone and exploit his weaknesses.

I didnt say he should be cut. I said he should be either a lb or a sub package safety.
