Getting paid more might but you a few more chances to stay on the roster than the minimum salary types. . But results dictate who actually plays the most on game day. It's been proven time and time again that NFL coaches have no problem benching the high priced guys for the cheap option if it'll help them win a game. Not sure how this idea keeps being perpetuated
I can see Oliver playing the "Woodhead" role for them. Third down back and passes out of the back field. I doubt Mathews will be a bellcow or anything. Playing the Raiders there is a decent chance both find the end zone.
