Thoughts?
Hurst is obviously talented and under utilized in Baltimore, would you do this trade?

I would consider it. If the Ravens threw in a 4th too I would do it.

Baltimore is a well run organization, they recognize the value in youth and have consistently moved on from aging veterans. I cannot see a scenario in which they trade youth for a 31year old (32 in August) Patrick "Ryan" Kerrigan.

While that would be an ideal landing spot for RK (the Ravens actually need help at edge/linebacker) there are teams that would be willing to trade with us for him. I just don't see Baltimore as one of them.

It wouldn't be a bad deal for us as I imagine Hurst would win the TE job pretty easily. I should say I'm assuming that Hurst is a good to very good blocker. If so that would be a pleasant change from our recent TEs. I see that his drop % in the NFL is 0.0.....nice, so he has excellent hands.....I'm assuming. So yeah, if Hurst can block and his hands are good I'd be OK with a straight up trade of that nature.

Was surprised in a bad way to see Hurst only scored 3 TDs in 2+ plus years on 100 catches at South Carolina. @ 6'5" I thought he'd have more TDs than that.

  • Hayden Hurst TE, Baltimore Ravens

The Athletic's Jeff Howe reports there's a "real chance" the Ravens "move" third-year TE Hayden Hurst this offseason.
Hurst was the No. 25 overall pick in the 2018 draft but is already going to turn 27 this year. Mark Andrews, drafted in the third round that same year, has breezed past Hurst on the depth chart, as Hurst has just a combined 43-512-3 receiving line across 28 career games. Hurst should have a market, but the Ravens can't expect more than a Day 3 pick. Andrews and Nick Boyle are Baltimore's top two tight ends.

Personally, I'd put my love of Kerrigan aside and accept this trade if Baltimore offered.
Hurst has often mentioned how his small role in the offense isn't ideal, but he never became a distraction.
