Basically it's about trading him for value now because he wo t be resigned in NY next year

With A-Rod inability to stay healthy that would be a bad decision unless they're getting another reliable bat in return

Sandy ought to give Adam Laroche a call just to ask if he'd consider coming out of self imposed "retirement" for the remainder of this season. Hell, we'd even allow his son in the clubhouse once in a while too.

David Wright's three-run homer in the third inning of Monday's game was all the offense the Mets needed as they went on to beat the Nats 7-1. The blast was Wright's 86th career go-ahead homer, passing Darryl Strawberry for most in Mets history, per ESPN Stats & Info.

No clue. Every day is gravy right now. We fans are just waiting for the press conference where they say he'll be out indefinitely, followed by the tearful retirement speech a few weeks later.

Or, he could play with this condition for years, like Mattingly did.

if the Mets platoon him then I see him remaining for 3-4 more years... If they throw him out there everyday I'd say maybe 1 more year

Again, if Wilmer Flores were healthy he could be spelling Wright more frequently. They said at the start of the year that David would be getting off the day games after a night game. Then there's the callup Matt Reynolds, who could also get some time at third. With Duda being out for a while, I think this is the perfect time to start transitioning Wright to first, but Collins isn't taking my calls.

yeah that is true, I forgot he wasn't healthy. Moving him to 1st is also a good idea. What would that mean for Duda?

Probably a trade for value. Duda is a good guy, a decent defender, but a streaky hitter w/ a balky back...or maybe he stays and they do a straight lefty-righty platoon with Wright? I dunno...some stat head is gonna walk into this thread any second now and tell why my ideas are stewpit

Looks like Chicago isn't quite the center of the baseball-verse any more

Drew Pomeranz off to a pretty good start to the season. Billy Beane should trade for a guy like him.
First Tyson Ross, who needs to get healthy, and now Pomeranz. The Padres should trade for A's pitchers more often.

It's usually the other way around.
