1. Mike Gilislee may be headed out. As many as four teams have called about the veteran running back. Question is draft pick or defensive player??

2. NESN and others are reporting that the Patriots and Dolphins are in serious discussions about Jarvis Landry. Landry will be a FA at the end of this season and the Dolphins don't want to take the chance that he may only get them a fourth round compensatory pick. Having a late second or third would be more acceptable. Landry tweeted that it's not always the team your with, but where you go that could determine how well you do.........doesn't appear that he plans on staying in Miami.

3. Bleacher Report says that Patriots are talking to several teams about various deals that involve Defensive Ends, Linebackers and critically important a Tight End.

4. The biggest rumor is that BB might deal Malcolm Butler. Rumors are that he isn't interested in resigning with the Patriots and does not want to be Franchised.

Well it's a good thing this thread is entitled Rumors Rumors Rumors. Although it made me want to listen to some Fleetwood Mac. Seems odd to give Gilislee as they just signed him and that would leave us with no larger type back. I could see Butler being dealt although the secondary seems to be coming together so that would kind of stink but it makes the most sense.

Butler doesn't want to be franchised.... Oh boohoo, take the 12 to 15 mill and shut your pie hole. I'm tired of players whining about leverage granted by the collective bargaining agreement. Blame your union, not the team. Same for his pouting last year... thinking the Pats should pay him when he hadn't yet EARNED the leverage to get a bigger contract.

That pick may have delivered a Super Bowl (It did), but it also cast him into a spotlight that enabled tremendous future bucks. The key word there is future.

The deadline has passed and the Patriots did nothing. BB said that there were many discussions but it would have cost way too much to get something done. After having only four draft picks this year and one of thyem on the non-football injury/illness list, one cut, one on IR and one finally playing Bill decided not to indulge in the mystery meat market.
