If you want to know why I always criticized Roy Hibbert and will continue to do so just check this out.

In the month of February so far, he's scored double digit points twice while scoring single digit points 5 times. Since January he has scored 10 points or less 12 TIMES.

In 24 of their 52 games he has not scored more than 10 points.....Oh yeah don't get me started on his rebounding

7'2 290 pound Hibbert can't even avg 8 freaking RPG in the small eastern conference.

In 35 of the Pacers 52 games, the 7'2 Hibbert failed to grab at least 10 rebounds.

Let's face it folks, the man is flat out overrated. He's a good defensive player but that's about it.

Might save the talk for the playoffs.

Miami isn't doing any better than the Pacers.

I think he's overrated too...why does he play so well against the Heat though...it's annoying as fk...refs also refuse to call fouls on him some games vs MIA...it's all very strange to me.

This wasn't about Miami or Indiana....This is about Roy Hibbert who is an overrated player because he plays well against Miami in the playoffs in 3 or 4 games lol everyone think he is some dominant force

I never said a negative word about his defense. I been saying it all year though.....HE SUCKS on offense.

11 and 7 for a player 7'2 and 290? Let's get real now

Bosh is a PF playing at C which is the only reason he plays well against Miami.....In addition to this Bosh was never known for his defense

I never got the perception he was over rated at all. He is a good defensive piece that happens to hurt the Heat but he has not in my opinion ever been more than marginal. Bogut is much better than him IMO and he hasnt been at 100% for years.

Roy Hibbert is only the "best" of anything because he's playing in such a weak big man era. He would get murdered if he played against the likes of Hakeem, Mutombo, Shaq, David Robinson, etc

Didn't he shoot like 44 % last year from the field?

Roy is doing a lot better these days, but the man is clumsy. He works and he works, but still....

Even though the Pacers have been playing like dog shit lately, Roy still does his job around the rim. That included blocking out so others can get the rebounds and creating space for West to score. Why is it, do you suppose, Lance Stephenson has been averaging close to double digits in rebounding most of the season?

Without a doubt. The Bogut from Milwaukee before he had those elbow injuries shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence with Hibbert......That's how much better he is

Yea I admit Hibert has been a let down this season IMO. I expected him to have an All Star type of season this year after last season, but I think he will be huge in the playoffs, time will tell.

If they play the heat that is very possible....But in the other 2/3 rounds I highly doubt he will be much of a factor on offense

Considering how much better the Pacers and Heat are than the rest of the East, they likely won't need him to be much of a factor until the ECF.

He's not overrated. No one considers him a great offensive player. He's known for his defense and anchors the best defense in the league. If people were saying that he dominates both ends of the floor then you have a point. It is pretty sad though at 7'2", he's grabbing less than 8 boards a game and only shoots 46.4% from the field.

For the record, rebounding is a HUGE part of defense. So to call him a great defensive player and a bad rebounder in the same sentence is a bit oxymornoic.

He does lack in that aspect of defense no doubt. He makes up for it tremendously with all the blocked and altered shots. Altered shots are usually better than blocks as your teammates generally rebound those. Hibbert does have the top defensive rating in the league.

Joakim Noah is the best C in the East.....

Hibbert's solid though. I don't know if you can say overrated necessarily because he is amongst the top defenders in the game and can make things difficult.

But Joakim Noah is one of the most underrated players in the league (even with him being a 2 time coach voted all star).

In reference to being labeled a poor defender but getting a lot of rebounds....and rebounds being a part of defense...

Carlos boozer has been a top 10 total rebound rate guy 5 times in his career, and been top 5 in total defensive rebounds 4 times in his career, and yet Boozer's a terrible defender....
