Well, would-be Super Bowl hero Chris Matthews was waved today (signed Kevin Smith from the practice squad). Despite having the 4th most snaps among WRs (232), he only managed 4 catches and he never really provided the advantages that was hoped for. Wish him the best of luck wherever he ends up.

232 snaps... 8 targets. Are you kidding me? Sometimes it blows my mind what Seattle's coaching staff must be thinking. Let's assume half those snaps (that's generous) are runs. So 116 snaps. 8 targets/4 catches. The guy averaged below 5% catches on passing downs? /facepalm. This team.

Shame it didn't work out, he was tremendous in the NFCCCG and SB.

Side note, Christine Micheals cut by Cowboys. Not surprised.

Every time I saw him he had dbs smothering him. The guy just had no quickness, at all.

It will just suck if he goes to a team who knows how to use him and he excels. Great for him, but sucks for seahawks.

How often does a completely unproductive player get cut, find a team that "knows how to use him", then thrives?

I have no idea, but I wish him lots of success. If he went to a throw happy offense he might find a home.

I doubt it. There's plenty of spots out there for him right now, someone will likely take a chance on him. But from what I saw, he won't make it in the league very long in any offense if he cant seriously increase his ability to get off the line and run routes.

On a slightly related note, Christine Michael was cut by the Dallas "anyone can run behind that line" Cowboys today.

Ever see what happens to former Mariners when they go to other teams?

Lol. Yes, touche. I was talking about football though.

James Jones? James Harrison? I get your point that it isn't common, but it does happen.
