Hasn't he also proclaimed the Dodgers are willing to pay him like $250-300 million?

Should have added a ''?'' at the end of the topic title so people aren't confused or hyped about the signing lol

Cause I honestly came in here thinking it happened or was innevitable lol

No idea whether it happens, but having to face Jackson, Cano, Miggy, Fielder, and VMart in order would be pretty sick.

I don't see the Tigers paying another $20 million+ per year for another bat. That's not where they need help.

Sure surprised they didnt loop the cubs into this, its usually the first stop the agents make to drive up the price of their free agents.

What else do they need with Verlander and Scherzer and Sanchez? maybe beer and fried chicken in the clubhouse for the starters on their off days?

0% chance the Tigers are pursuing Cano, nor should they. the priority for the Tigers should be improving the BP, they already have way too much money tied into a few players.

That was before the Dodgers singed a new Cuban dude to play 2B for them going forward.

Tigers could sign Mark Ellis to replace Infante.

A couple of them could use a bit less beer & fried chicken. A healthy Miggy and some help in the pen and they'll be fine. Signing or trading Scherzer is their big question mark.

Oh they definitely need help with the bats. You do remember their lack of offense was the main reason they lost right? They went like two straight months without any sort of offense which was pathetic really. Their rotation was awesome and their pen does need help, but their offense struggled mightily.

Im not advocating for a robinson cano signing btw. Way too much money imo. I would rather see them add choo, drop jackson down in the order, trade max for a boatload of talent including some pen help and call it a day.

Butler does deserve to play for a winner, hes been too professional of an athlete and great of a hitter to waste it in kc.

IMO, that would be a big mistake. It always starts and ends with starting pitching. Boras advised his clients to get to FA, but extensions can be made. It'll be tough with Verlander's contract, but they could give him $20m for 6/7 and he would take it. This is the winter to do it. (I doubt Scherzer will ever replicate this season).... Having Scherzer, Verlander & Sanchez locked up would be lights out. With those three, they could let Cabrera walk in two years (when he becomes a full time DH)...

FYI 2015 FA SP:
Brett Anderson (27) - $12MM club option with a $1.5MM buyout
Homer Bailey (29)
Josh Beckett (35)
Chad Billingsley (30) - $14MM club option with a $3MM buyout
Joe Blanton (34) - $8MM club option with a $1MM buyout
Wei-Yin Chen (29) - $4.75MM club option with a $372K buyout
Kevin Correia (34)
Johnny Cueto (29) - $10MM club option with an $800K buyout
Ryan Dempster (38)
Yovani Gallardo (29) - $13MM club option with a $600K buyout
J.A. Happ (32) - $6.7MM club option
Luke Hochevar (31)
Hisashi Iwakuma (34) - $7MM club option with a $1MM buyout
Kyle Kendrick (30)
Clayton Kershaw (27)
Jon Lester (31)
Justin Masterson (30)
Brandon McCarthy (31)
Brandon Morrow (30) - $10MM club option with a $1MM buyout
Charlie Morton (31)
Jeff Niemann (32)
Ross Ohlendorf (32)
Felipe Paulino (31)
Jake Peavy (34)
Clayton Richard (31)
Max Scherzer (30)

Disagree steve. Their options are to trade him and get alot in return while his value is at an all time high or have him play one more season and lose him. He will never have a season as good as 2013 again. Its the move that makes the most sense his offseason for the tigers.

I sorta agree with you, a lot of veterans should be traded for a chance to win. Guys like Bautista, Mauer, Kinsler, Phillips, Votto, M. Cabrera...etc..well heck its crazy a guy like M. Cabrera, hits for the first Triple Crown in 40 years then almost does it again and they still can't put a good enough team around him to win it..he hit less and was able to win with the Marlins for pete's sake...heck maybe trades SF, Phi, Stl, NYY...really any team who has won in the last decade would work for all of them.
