My gut feeling is Ray does not play the 2024 season. Seems like it's a 12 to 16 month time frame and the money they're paying him I suspect they won't rush him back even if the M's are in the playoff race this time next year.

You are 100% correct, BUT what happened to him? He hit .390 in AAA. He hit .305 & .291right after that for SD and Seattle. Then .274 last year and .254 this year. Why? He hit .308 in the first half of last year then .229 the second half. That was the beginning of the end. I agree to a point that all the injuries played a part, but maybe more mental than physical. He has healed physically but has he healed mentally.

I feel a lot of this falls on the hitting coach and it's just not Ty France. JRod swing at shit pitches, Geno batting .230 and K's a lot plus the amount of guys on base and can't get them in. Not sure why they pay him.

I agree except for Suarez. .230 is his career average so he is who he is. Why he lost all his power? That I don't know. But ya he, whoever he is, hasn't helped France or Julio with the exception of Julio for a few weeks in August. It is just real weird how we struggle to do basic things like move runners over, move them in, make contact, etc. That to me is 100% on the hitting coach.
