Not a huge Star Trek fan but Spock was a interesting character on television. Nimoy did a good job playing that part. Some interesting stuff on that program. The walke talke things they used were almost like cell phones Some cool stuff on there.

Alot of the technology you see today came from Star Trek

Not that I have any reason to be personally offended, and it's obviously his choice to make as a grown man...but, I think Shatner has just sealed his reputation as a massive fucking asshole by blowing off Nimoy's funeral. It's pretty well known that he's an asshole who can't act and still thinks he's god's gift to entertainment, but the asshole part should be 100% obvious to everybody now.
I had totally forgotten that Nimoy narrated "In Search Of...", a show I just adored as a kid. He also wrote poetry and certainly came across as a fine man. Sorry to hear he's gone...as a mark of respect, I won't post the video of him singing the Bilbo Baggins song from '60s TV.

Ummmmm....no.
I wonder what Nimoy thought of Chevy Chase's characterization of him from the SNL sketch in which Star Trek was cancelled? One of the few really funny things he did on that show.

Sounds like Nimoy decided to make a mountain out of a molehill to me, but who knows what goes on between people. Shatner was the only one on that show with a lick of talent imo.

Was this ever even up for debate? There is a reason why basically everyone disliked him and it wasn't due to his extreme overacting.

It probably wasn't the one act per say but a lifetime of insensitivity and arrogance from what I have read. The straw that broke the camel's back.

Maybe THIS will change your mind...

Seriously, I think Shatner was a really handsome guy with a powerful speaking voice and a certain presence about him. That said, he could not act at all.

Yeah, he was a basically a stiff and a ham in dramatic roles but he was hilarious as Denny Crane in Boston Legal... pretty much the only reason I watched the show. He's been funny in other comedic roles as well, though they don't immediately leap to mind.

Hilarious in that role, Shatners best.
