didn't need your help. auburn was going to jump ohio state anyway.

why would a 1 loss SEC team NOT jump a team who's resume couldn't stack up to 2008 Utah (jumped by 1 loss Florida).

never mind, doesn't matter. you would be speaking in hypotheticals anyway.

auburn was the team that KO'd the 2 time defending champion.

michigan state beat a team that had beaten 1 top 20 team in 2 seasons (#19, at home).

just go home and let me know how pasadena is so when the real football teams show up to play i'll know how to dress.

I'm sorry but you needed Michigan State to win to go to the title game. You did not have the dominate of a win against Missouri and gave up way too many yards for them to jump if Ohio State had won by 7 points. Anything else is just your opinion.

That's what you do all the time and try to pass it off as fact.

But barring some extreme circumstances, there's no way a one-loss team from any conference should jump an undefeated team from one of the major conferences.

And one of the main reasons, there were 3 one-loss SEC teams at CCG time was that because of their 8-game schedule, they escaped playing many of the better teams in the other division.

Play a 9-game schedule and drop the late-season cupcake games and there will be more respect given the SEC. Not that I don't think they are the best conference. But the perceived humongous gap between them and the rest of the conferences is ridiculous.

People keep saying "major conferences"

Folks, we rank teams on what they do. Not conferences. Florida State might be the best team in the country even though they come from a garbage conference.

The best conference in the country might have no teams in the top 5.

Look at the teams. Utah 2008 >>> Ohio State 2013. Yet 1 loss Florida was selected over undefeated Utah.

And if you really don't think Utah in 2008 had a better resume than Ohio State (had they beaten Michigan State, back it up with facts). Utah defeated 3 ranked teams including a top 10 team prior to playing (and beating) Alabama in the Sugar Bowl.

If anybdoy wants to debate the merits if 2008 Utah and 2013 Ohio State, then let's do it.

I don't think you guys really want to though because you will find out that even if Ohio State had beaten Michigan State, they'd still lack the oomph of the wins that Utah had.

Coming from an AQ conference is meaningless if a "mid-major" has played as good of a schedule as you and notched better wins.

Not going to argue two teams from different years. 1-loss Florida was selected because it is in a major conference while Utah was not.

You just don't get that rankings have a level of subjectivity and that the SEC has benefited from it more than any other conference. And the PAC, Big 10, Big 12, and SEC get the benefit of the doubt over other conferences.
