It's amazing what can happen when you have a QB who can rise to the occasion. Certainly other parts play a vital role (defense especially) but the Bengals haven't had an "IT" QB since Boomer...Carson was almost there....we'll never know thanks to his knee injury...Dalton was a solid Sunday 1pm QB, but could never be the guy relied upon to shine bright in the big moments.
Dalton was like the wrestler who is hired just to make the featured wrestler look good. known as a jobber or ham and egger. It's amazing what can happen when you have a QB who can rise to the occasion. One of the all-time great jobbers...Koko B Ware...Dalton was like the wrestler who is hired just to make the featured wrestler look good. known as a jobber or ham and egger.
Gotta look at the coaching as well. Can you imagine a Marvin Lewis coached team coming out with a 30 yard pass after a team just cut it to 6 with 3 minutes left? That would never happen. At some point in time you have to expect your team to win - Not hope they are going to win. This stuff gets magnified in primetime games because the spotlight is on you and you are often playing a good team. It's amazing what can happen when you have a QB who can rise to the occasion.
