The irony of Detroit playing a team called the Senators on Election Day is not lost upon me.

Same lines as the last period of the Buffalo game, which I dislike L2 and L3.

Flames are in DC as well today - I sure hope it's not an re-enactment of an 1812 episode.

I think it's more of a "Mutually assured destruction" kinda thing.

If Calgary gets a little "itchy" in DC, be rest assured that we'll scratch Canada's back in Ottawa.

I agree, although I don't expect it. He started off the season hot, then got hurt. Upon his return, he was absolutely horrible. Usually his hot streaks last 4-8 games and his cold ones last 16-20.

If Mule has another game tonight like the game against Buffalo, I say dump him in the press box for a while and give Weiss, Nestrasil or *gulp* Cleary a try.

Weiss is on the IR.

True, short-term IR. He's thusfar been ruled out only through tomorrow's game.

The intended point was, though, that I'd rather have a guy with a bad groin, a rookie or a mossy log on the ice who tries to play over someone who gives the team absolutely no effort whatsoever.

Couple things..

Mule was off for two weeks. It was one game back for crying out loud. No reason to really go at him.

Mules streak last year was a lot longer. He found more consistent play. His work ethic from his November return last year has been impressive. Its been there for 94% of games. Mule looks in the best shape of his life right now. Mule has been a role model and shouldn't be getting critized.

Again, hate lines 2&3. Tats and Gus are too similar ... Sheahan hasn't been great defensively this year and kinda weakbonnthe boards. Third line is just random.

Mule has chemistry with Ny and 21. I'd roll

Tats-Helm-Mule
Nyquist-Sheahan-Jurco

Or the original lineup from last game as Gus-Hwln-Mule happened and did well

I truly hope it was just one bad game.

One thing you don't know about me... I volunteer coach middle-school-aged girls volleyball, boys basketball and coed softball. [I'd coach hockey instead of hoops if it was a school sport here.] When coaching, I expect and demand maximum effort above all. I heap hefty doses of praise if I see my kids giving it everything they've got, even if they're making mistakes. On the flipside, no matter how talented the player or whose kid it is, if a player is not giving max effort, they're riding the bench. If I demand that from 10-14-year-olds, I would be unjustifiably hypocritical if I didn't demand it from the athletes on my favorite pro sports teams.

Franzen was very obviously dogging it against Buffalo and he deserves a boot up his backside for his effort. I make no apologies for my criticism.

Understandable. Mule probably wasn't conditioned though. As much as giving it 100%, it really doesn't happen, especially with skill and injuries. Two different things though.

Aggressive Mule is the best. He's been agressice since the change in depression pills though. Mule is what he is. 50 points for 4M. I won't complain.

With Dish, Hopper, Center Ice and the Dish Anywhere app, I can watch the games on my phone wherever I go. I did just that Friday for the Kings game as I was attending a birthday party.

Technology can be wonderful.
