I agree I think a win here wins the series, I think Colby can seal it up on St Louis

i'm not concerned with CJ throwing a shutout. i'll be happy as long as we score 1 more run than St. Louis

That's right.

Our hitters have seen Carpenter. They know what to expect, and they are comfortable in their own ballpark. They will be fine, and I don't think Carp will be so dominant again.

CJ on the other hand is ready to step up big here I think. He's all about his routine, and he's at home playing the style of ball he is used to. I know he likes to bat, but CJ is all about routine and batting probably takes him out of his in game routine. If they pull this off I have major confidence in Colby in St. Louis.

Right now, out of our 4 postseason starters, I have the least confidence in CJ. And while a shutout would be awesome, sometimes I think CJ is actually trying to throw a shutout, instead of pitching with smarts. Just throw strikes, get ahead of hitters, and stop thinking about your FA contract, race cars, and girls. In fact, just stop thinking, and use your God-given physical talents, trust your instincts, and throw a great game.

And lay off on the cutter. You can't locate it worth a flip lately.

Oh, and one more thing: This is the biggest game in the history of the Texas Rangers and the biggest game of your professional career. Good luck out there. We're all counting on you.

I think his slider has been a big issue too. He's been throwing it in the dirt a lot and falling behind in the count. That and the fact that he hasn't got the low part of the strike zone from the ump very much. If he can get that tonight and keep his pitches down while throwing strikes, he'll be fine.

The guy hasn't won a game since Sept 11. For a "supposed" ace, I'd say he's a bit overdue. And with this being his final start of the season, its got to be tonight.

Am I the only one who thinks AJ Pierzynski (sp?) is a complete tool?

You know I wonder if pitching CJ every fifth day didn't just kind of wear on him at the end of the season. He has had the opportunity to get some extra rest since the season ended and each start has progressively gotten better. I think he'll be solid tonight.

It's hard to believe CJ's postseason numbers. He really needs to come through tonight to avoid making the wrong kind of history. He can do it. Come on CJ!

There's a reason he's one of the most hated players in the game. I'm surprised he's not more of a drag on the broadcast.

It's gonna take more than that from CJ...couldn't locate his cutter, had a hard hit ball by Furcal snatched by Beltre, fell behind 3-0 to Pujols and he swung at ball 4.
