Good for Colon. Think this could be his last contract.

Seems like the Rangers are sending a message ... don't come calling for big contracts, fellas. We can find our pitchers cheaper than that.

Colon's probably at the end of the road, but it doesn't hurt for the Rangers to see if he can still eat some innings. Their rotation looks pretty bad and needs the depth.

I mean, this is a little ridiculous. I like Colon too, but calling him a gas can at this point is actually generous.

it's a minor league deal. if he pitches as badly as he did with the Braves, he probably won't have a very long leash. He was serviceable with the Twins (5.18 ERA, 1.44 WHIP). that being said, I'm not sure a hittable pitcher is a good fit in a ballpark like Arlington.

I just hate that he's doing this... It was funny in NY when he was still inexplicably getting guys out. However, now that he's just getting lit up like a pinball machine. I just wish he'd stop the charade. I know retiring for some guys can be tough, but f'n a.

Guy has an agent who goes to the GM and does the 'nudge nudge' of the old elbow ... 'say, you sign my fat Albert here and the next biggie that comes along, I'll see you get first shot at him. Deal?'

GM says, sure we can do that. No point sharpening any pencils. We aren't gonna spend any money on Arrieta anyway.

Sounds like they want to restructure something that gets them through the first week of the season.
