They actually could. We need to lay off Duran some. We have a habit that someone is on fire we think they are awesome and if they tank for a month send him on his way. It's like a roller-coaster.

He's definitely a playoff starter, but Eovaldi is the ace, and no guarantee Scherzer starts ahead of Dunning, so he could certainly be the #3 starter.
It also depends on who pitches at the end of the season. Postseason starts on Tuesday after the season ends on Sunday. That means the guys who start Friday, Saturday and Sunday won't start the first game of the postseason. It remains to be seen if we will be afforded the luxury of setting up the rotation the way we want it.

If Scherzer pitches every fifth game from now to the end of the season, he could start the first postseason game. Of course, if they add a sixth starter once or twice along the way, then he wouldn't be able to.
