Trading Carter is crazy. He’s the biggest ranger prospect since profar. He will probably be a good major leaguer at worst and a star at best.

How many big time prospects can you name that failed? There is no guarantee. Bird in the hand is better.

Relievers are a risky business. Tommy if we are competing at the break then of course we look for bullpen help. We have a huge farm and should not have to give up Carter nor should we or will me

We did not give up the haul Bucs wanted for BReynolds so doubt if we do an about face.

We need a sustainable future without gioing all in with the farm. But yeah I give up some MIF depth not sure about Acuna but for the right controllable piece maybe.

Maybe we wait and sign in the off-season maybe not

why are relievers so costly when nearly every bottom feeder trades theirs away around the time of the deadline?

I remember one year when the Yankees improved their team while accomplishing their goal of not giving up any of their top 10 prospects. Why can’t we do that?

we shouldn’t have to trade a Duran or Carter type for bullpen help. Those are the kind of guys who should bring back a starting pitcher Or big bat.

There is a very big difference between trading for a reliever like we did for Diekman or someone similar, and trading for a really good closer who you are going to control for almost 5 years.

We could trade for a decent reliever who would be here until the end of the year for a prospect ranked 20 or worse. We could do that.

Any interest on Jordan Hicks as a rental? He’s wild but pitched under Maddox and maybe he can straighten him out. I know he’s not the answer but it would be nice to bring in somebody who can throw 104+ mph once in a while.

If I had Diaz controlled for that long I would want someone with a lot more promise than Huff to headline the deal.

Maybe but if you trade Carter the Reds would have to throw in at least one or two more players to make it equal, who else would you want???
