It is a good thing they have Bradford to mop up. We wouldn't want him stretched out or anything.

Wasting him in that role in the BP.....dumb

A couple of the guys have already

Poor effort seems easier to stomach when there are less expectation. If they had never shown how good they could be, I would not have cared near as much

16K’s. The formula is first pitch down the middle because they are taking. Next pitch on the corner get them to foul it off. Waste a pitch and then a change up, slider or sinker in the dirt for the K.
Garcia caught on and nailed Englert’s first pitch down the middle though.

In the latest mocks,Baseball Prospect Journal still has the Rangers selecting Walker Jenkins, but Jonathan Mayo, of MLB, has the Rangers selecting Max Clark.

Prep Baseball Report also has Clark being selected by the Rangers. While Mayo has the Rangers favoring Clark over Jenkims, the PBR has the Rangers favoring Ckark over Langford.

CbS Sports' mock has the Rangers selecting Jenkins.

The Sporting News latest mock also has Jenkins to the Rangers.

From Evan Grant:

Right-hander Alex Speas, who has not allowed an earned run in more than a month at Double-A Frisco with a fastball that touches 100, is heading to Triple-A Round Rock, according to three people with knowledge of the Rangers plans. Speas, 25, has put up MLB: The Show type numbers at Frisco this year after walking away from the game last year to focus on family and happiness. He has a 0.64 ERA in 28.1 innings over 23 appearances this year with 47 strikeouts and just 13 walks.

But, if possible, the numbers are even more amazing over the last six weeks. Since last allowing an earned run on May 11, Speas has allowed just 13 baserunners (six hits, six walks and a hit batter) in 18 innings. Batters are hitting just .103 in that span. He has struck out 32 of the 66 batters (48.4%) he has faced in the stretch. Also of significance: In each of his last five outings, he’s gone more than an inning. Rangers manager Bruce Bochy has been regularly using his high-leverage relievers this season to get an out in a jam and then return for the next inning. Josh Sborz has taken to that role recently.

Was looking at Tigers batters history against Perez and virtually everyone of them has a .250 avg or higher.
