Not exactly thrilled, but who knows? I think of him as a guy who is supposed to have had a lot of potential the past few years and never really lived up to it. Then again, he has been pretty durable, he is still fairly young, and pitching performances can vary wildly from year to year. Maybe he puts together a solid season this year.

He has been pretty durable and most likely will give you 180 - 200 innings. Never really dominated as he was expected to but should be a solid 3 or 4 on the Rangers staff.

That's an interesting possibility. Didn't realize it, but Maddux was also his pitching coach in '07 and '08.

That I didn't know but Maddux has done a great job with the pitching staff since he's been here. And considering the amount of pitchers they went thru last year with injuries that was no easy job using so many youngsters.

I'm surprised he is not a manager yet.... I wonder how many interviews he's been on. It seems like whenever there is a vacancy, his name comes up...

I'm waiting for someone to hire him as manager, then have him hire his brother as the pitching coach...

I think this pretty much covers it. I'm curious to see how he does in the AL with the extra hitter and in that ballpark. He will give you innings, that's for sure.
