nobody is thrilled with Tebow or Barkley. Cut them both, neither will get picked up. In an emergency, both of them or Kinne would gladly come back. Sign a young athletic kid to the practice squad and teach them. I'd rather see a D3 kid with skills develop.

Agreed.

Barkley should be much further ahead after having extended time in the system. While he did not get opportunities he should have performed better against backups.

Tebow played better than Barkley but did not mean his performance was all that great. He holds onto the ball too long and on almost every play he looks at read #1 and after that he was done with is progressions.

Ummm no. A shitty QB (sometimes referred to as developmental) is useless. Just ask the Cardinals how that plan fared with Ryan Lindley.

I really couldn't care less who our 3rd string QB is -- I highly doubt either of those two dumdums make any difference if we're forced to start em. We'll have to rely on our run game, defense and ST if Bradford/Sanchez is out for any period of time.

well Barkley is shipped off to Arizona for a conditional 7th round pick (Barkley needs to be on Arizona's roster for 6 games)

We'll see what happens with Tebow now

So now we have Stephen Morris, who couldn't beat Chad Henne out of the #2 job in Jacksonville, was never drafted and doesn't seem to have any real distinguishable characteristic at all? Product of the U, so maybe Stoutland was hot for him?

I am scratching my head. I hope they cut this guy and pick up someone like OT Cameron Fleming, who just got waived by the Patriots to make room for a DT.

They couldn't sign this guy to the practice squad? Not sure why we have to use a 53 man roster spot for him.

You did. Kelly is looking for his Sanchez replacement. He needs a player that can compete and win the job next year so he can get rid of Sanchez and his huge (for a backup) salary. They are going to need that money to pay Bradford, so he needs to be prepared to go cheap at backup.

When he picked up Tebow, there weren't many options available and now with the cutdown to 53 he wants to take a long look at the market and find his guy. If he were to be honest (and coaches rarely are about these things), Morris is no where close to ready and is a huge project. Its Ryan Day's job to find the right guy and by next year have him ready to go.

But if Bradford were to get injured this weekend, Kelly most likely would be calling Tebow. He may not want him long term, but he would be a better option short term.

And if it turns out he doesn't like Morris much and/or if shit hits the fan he can always go back to Tebow.

As a backup to Sanchez of course. You don't want the UDFA potentially out there with only two weeks in the system.

I am pretty sure that if something happened and Sanchez became the starter Tebow will not be called. The Eagles would more than likely sign a veteran with more playing experience that Tebow to be the backup. There are always a handful around who while not the backup would not cost too much to keep as a #3.

No dude I mean STFU with all the "if Bradford gets injured" stuff. Good Lord, don't smite our season.
