BK says EG and Zaire will compete for the starting job. Have to give the lead to EG considering he has played in the system in live games...Going to be interesting for sure. I am glad BK is not handing over the job to EG.

I don't think it will be much of a battle. Golson helped us get to the NCG. I would be shocked if Golson wasn't the QB. If Zaire couldn't beat out Rees I don't see him beating out Golson. Either way it should be fun to watch.

Can't imagine Zaire beating out Golson if he didn't get the nod over Rees. I have to admit though, I have not looked into any highlights of Zaire. I think Kelly knows that Golson has the keys to the offense, he's just doing his media talk.

Wasn't Zaire held out for months due to a bout with mono. I think by the time he was ready the thought was not to burn a year of eligibility for 3-4 games. Zaire was much higher rated coming out of high school, and probably has a bigger upside, but I think Golson starts the season. In any event, having two quality QB's is never a bad thing. In case of injury, you can move the other in without having to alter the Offensive strategy too much.

Either QB will give us a very solid running game, with the backfield we have I'd like to see us really thrive in the read option
