If Hamilton played 141 games that would be an upgrade. I can't say I disagree with any of your predictions, though I would prefer Hamilton play 8-10 more games.

I would prefer it as well, but his track record speaks for itself, he's only topped that number once in his career, I'm being as optimistic as I can be

Damn you Rangers for not going for Prince harder...but at that kind of money I get it...but the point of this post is...we BETTER not lose any of our top players to the damn Yankees or another vulture because of money NOW!!! No excuses at this point because every season that passes we have more and more spending money as revenue increases and contracts like MY's come off the books. Last thing...this puts ALOT more pressure, if that was even possible, on Darvish to succeed at the MLB level since he was a big splash alone. Either way, great team assembled and I expect another great season of which I will watch just about every game!

Agree to a point but it shouldn't be reason to throw money at Hamilton for the sake of doing so, negotiations should remain reasonable for a guy who's only once played more than 133 games

That goes for Napoli too, who wants to get paid for 1 half of baseball

1 half of baseball defensively perhaps, but Nap has always had power. For his career he averages a HR every 16 AB's, and with consistent playing time he has shown the ability to get in a groove. Yes he 2nd half of last year was incredible and not likely to be matched again, but as far as catchers go he is one of the best power hitters currently playing.

Just need to make sure we pay him like a catcher.

i think you're close except for Moreland at 1st. i don't think he goes that high. maybe 100-105 games at most and Borbon will be lucky to 30-35 games

Mostly talking about the average being out of the norm, probably was decent catcher too but got no love from Sciosia

Maybe right, I had originally forgot about interleague play and no DH, but instead of doing all the math again I took 9 interleague road games out of Young's total instead, I have a feeling those 9 games will probably be at the expense of Moreland and split between Napoli and Young

Wish there were a way to upgrade the backup C spot. Agree TEX needs to manage Napoli's playing time so he's not worn out in Sep/Oct ... but for me Torrealba is not good enough defensively to get 62 starts ... over a third of the season.

Honestly I think Torrealba just had a bad year, everything I've read said he was a solid defensive catcher before last year

Yea ... "solid defensive catcher" ... that's why he was #2 behind Chris Ianetta at COL before his one year for SDP.

Defensively he has cement in his shoes ... with a lower CS% than Napoli ... and had lower FPCT then Napoli, Teagarden, and Traynor in 2011. Napoli had 1 PB in 506 innings (.0019PB/In) ... Torrealba had 7PB in 823 innings (.0085PH/In).

Offensively amongst AL catchers Napoli was #4 (non-qualified) while Torrealba was #9. That was his only saving grace. Not his defense which
for a backup catcher which he has been for the large part of his career is all he is ... and not a very talented defensive backup. That's why COL let him go and why SDP only wanted him for a year.
