Jonathan Drouin and Andrej Sustr to Minnesota for Jonas Brodin, Louis Belpedio and 2017 5th round pick
I still have Jonathan Drouin be moved. Wild finished up there in goals but mainly due to the fact of depth rather than star power. They could use a bit more skill upfront and Drouin instanly becomes there most gifted offensive player. With Brodin involved in the deal the Wild get Sustr to be there #5 defeseman.
In return the Lightning get another swedish defenseman who will slot in as this team #3 defenaman behind Hedman and Stralman. Brodin hasn't lived up to expectation as the 10th overall pick in 2011 similar to Drouin but Brodin is coming off his best year and will turn 24 in the summer had has 4 years left at $4.16 mill. They also pick up Belpedio who is a 20 year old prospect and is ranked as there 8th best prospect. He fits the bill as a righty shot puck moving defenseman which they lost when they traded DeAngelo.
Jason Garrison to Nashville for Cody McLeod a 2017 3rd round pick
Like in the last thread I still have this deal happening. The Preds could use a bit more depth on the blueline and Garrison gives them an experienced steady defensman who can play top 4 minutes if needed but think he would exceed as #5 defenseman in Nashville behind Josi, Subban, Ekholm and Ellis.
In return the Lightning get a veteran character player in McLeod. They also gain a draft pick but most importantly dump Garrison's contract.
Pending UFA's & RFA's
Ondrej Palat signs a 6 year deal worth $31.5 million ($5.25 AAV)
Tyler Johnson signs a 5 year deal worth $23.75 million ($4.75 AAV)
Jake Dotchin signs a 2 year deal woth $2.5 million ($1.25 AAV)
Peter Budaj signs a 2 year deal worth $2 million ($1 AAV)
Luke Witkowski signs a 1 year deal worth 700K
Greg McKegg signs a year deal worth 700k
FA
Cody Franson signs a 3 year deal worth $9 mill ($3 AAV)
Jiri Hudler signs a 1 year deal worth $1 mill ($1 AAV)
Lightning add another defenseman in Cody Franson. Yzerman has shown previous interest Franson but never been able to acquire his services. He's a big, rangy puck moving defensman who has a bomb from the point, he also can play a phyiscal game.
They also land Hudler on a cheap 1 year, prove yourself deal. Hudler had some excellent seasons with the Wings and Flames before being moved to Florida last year and was only able to land a 1 year $2 mill deal with the Stars and was unimpressive with the Stars mainly due to injury but when healthy didn't really contribute. Yzerman was his teamate in Detroit and knows what he brings. He's a couple seasons removed from a 31 goal season with the Flames and with the likes of Filppula and Boyle gone, the Lightning need some experience back in their linuep hence the signing of Hudler and the pickup of McLeod in the Garrison trade.
