He was a really good back.

I don't see why we should celebrate guys who take like 20 years to finish their degrees. They were supposed to be student athletes and not minor league football players taking classes on the side.

And you obviously would have bypassed millions in a contract signing before your Senior year in college? Or before you completed your degree?

I find that a bit hypocritical to say the least.

that's just, silly.

When did you get your degree?

As for me, it wasnt easy. I worked hard to get it. I didnt play major college football at the same time either.

As for Holmes: he was a good running back at first, then blew up his knee. Total reconstruction.

When he did return, he had completely re-made his body. Instead of soft looking, he was hard as rock. And actually faster.

Realized his full potential in the NFL, after not being drafted (or drafted in late round, cant remember).

Actually, had a number of former Texas players graduate this spring.

Nathan Vasher, Marquis Goodwin, Carrington Byndom, Kheeston Randall, Adrian Phillips, Trey Hopkins, Garrett Porter, Garrett Greenlea, Josh Cochran, Priest Holmes, all came back to graduate.

Let's see. I was working 32 hour weeks while trying to take a full load and putting myself through college. That's why I have a pretty low tolerance for people whining about how things are stacked against them when they haven't bothered to try to improve their situation or congratulating people for basically doing what they were supposed to do.

That's bs. I had it tough getting my degree and I knew people that were way worse off than I was. I didn't asked to be congratulated when I graduated. I did it for myself. Why should I give a crap about a millionaire getting his degree 20 years later?

Yeah it happens every year with all schools. They come back for their degrees more often than people realize.

Dont think Holmes asked for it either, unless there's something I didnt read.

yes they do. Many of them also are good people, better than all the news that focuses on the few knuckleheads seems to indicate.
