[NOTE: This was originally posted over at the Soundoff, but that place is board non grata to me after today, I'm copy/pasting that info here. Hopefully no one here minds.]
Between the FBS, FCS, D2, D3, NAIA, and NJCAA, there's plenty of Postseason football on the horizon. The goal of this thread is to update when able, the various games going on at the various levels' Postseason. This includes Conference title games, Bowl games, Invitational Tournaments, and National Championship Playoffs. It's a lot to take in, but thankfully we have time until it's all sorted out.
Welcome to December Madness.
NOTE: I'm not including All-Star games, because those aren't so much games as they are showcases for NFL scouts. If someone wants to start up an All-Star Guide, go for it.
FBS
The NCAA's top division is loaded with Conference Championship games, Bowl games as well as a 4-team invitational in which a couple of Bowls are included as semifinals.
FCS
The NCAA's top division that determines a legitimate National Champion has the Playoffs to decide said Champion, but also some other Postseason goings-on. The Ivy League doesn't do football postseason so for them it's the last game of the regular season that determines whether we have a Champion or Co-Champions. The MEAC and SWAC ignore the Playoffs with the SWAC holding their own Conference Championship game to determine who plays the MEAC Champion for the FCS HBCU National Championship in the Celebration Bowl. Speaking of which, the Celebration Bowl is the lone FCS Bowl game, not including the National Championship itself.
D2
D2 is about the National Championship, but also has 4 Bowl games of their own.
D3
D3's National Championship is also referred to as the Stagg Bowl, but there are also 4 Bowl games outside the Playoffs.
NAIA
The NAIA has their Playoffs for the National Championship and they pretty much just leave it at that.
NJCAA
Yes, the NJCAA has a National Championship game where they determine the Top 2 teams and have them go at it for what they recognize as their National Champion. They also have a collection of Bowl games that get to serve as consolation prizes for good teams that aren't part of the Chosen 2.
NCCAA
Believe it or not, this is kind of a thing that exists. The NCCAA isn't necessarily a governing body, but more of an independent entity looking for 2 Christian based schools to show up and play a game somewhere, sometime. It's called the Victory Bowl and they've been doing this since 1997 and they'll call on any 2 teams they can find. In 2016 they only found 1 team and they were awarded the trophy by default.
Forthcoming, the schedule for all of this.
