Doesn't run as well. Doesn't pass as well. Doesn't lead his team to victory as well or as prolifically.
Manziel = poor man's Colt McCoy

Hmmm, Colt McCoy = 2nd winningest QB in FBS history, led Texas to the BCS title in '09, won a conference title, won a BCS bowl, Heisman Finalist.........

Johnny Manziel = Heisman winner

Do the math.....

Did I fucking do another dimension jump?

I hate when that shit happens.

Oh well, at least Alabama won in the other dimension and I got to enjoy it. Bad news for Texas fans though - Colt went out in the 1st 5 minutes like a bitch.

Both are a little bit different.

Colt had a better defense.
Manziel had better receivers and infinitely better offensive linemen.

Colt won a lot more than did Manziel.
He was one of the greatest winners in NCAA history.

Heck 2 of his 7 "losses" were injury games where he left the game with a lead only to see Snead and Gilbert gag away the game.

Manziel was more electric and understood the entertainer aspect of it.

But, overall Colt McCoy had a better college career.....its close.

It has nothing to do with the NFL. Ask Tommy Frazier, Gino Torreto, and Charlie Ward.

Colt beat 10 final ranked teams in 4 years as part of his NCAA record win totals.
Colt beat 1 FCS team in 4 years for his win totals.

Manziel beat 3 final ranked teams in 2 years (Alabama, Oklahoma, duke) as part of his win totals. Manziel beat 3 FCS teams in 2 years for his win totals.

Colt was a consistent winner that was just a little bit snakebitten with unfortunate timing/injury.

If the voters pick Texas in 2008, McCoy likely pads his stats versus Missouri and wins the Heisman.
Instead a seemingly random draw has Sam Bradford doing the same thing.

He was a spectacular college player.

Give it a few years and we will be asking the same question about Manziel.

So you don't know?

For real, I have no idea which NFL team he is currently rostered on and would like to know.

Ha I didn't know until you looked it up. I never thought McCoy would be a guy that would fade so quickly in the NFL. Mazniel is the better college quarterback in my eyes but I think McCoy (as abysmal as it has been) will ultimately have the better NFL career.

There really isn't a comparison at all. Colt was easily a better QB in college than Johnny. Not taking anything away from JF at all b/c he was a good QB, too, just not on Colt's level.

Quarterback, yes McCoy was better. As an all around play maker, it is Manziel in a landslide.

The bigger what-if for Colt is always overshadowed by the "injury what-if".

What if the voters decided the arbitrary 3-way tie in favor of Texas?

The 2008 Texas team was better than the 2009 Texas team.
They lost one game on a flukey play after an evil stretch of four consecutive top 10 teams.
They were just a little gassed and came up short on the road.

I think they crush Missouri and Colt wins a Heisman.
They would be a 50/50 shot versus Florida.
Both beat OU by 10 points in their home state. Both flattened Arkansas.
