I watched the ESPN episode of 'Game of the Century.' There's been several of those, but one that sticks out to me is Nebraska-Oklahoma in '71. Nebraska won 35-31 and it lived up to the hype. Had an 8-team playoff been in play back then it would've roughly looked like this...

I used to be a big proponent of 8 teams, the 5 P5 champs + highest ranked GO5 then 2 at large bids. Over the last year or two I'm kind of leaning towards just taking the top 6 or 8 ranked teams regardless of conference

Top six regardless. Top two seeds get a first round bye.
