It's cute that so many of you think this will be anything but a way for these committee members to get bribed and ultimately vote with their biases

Conference championship games were never created to determine the "best" team in a conference.

They were - and remain - a money grab, plain and simple.

If you want to say the team that wins the CCG is always the best team in the league, go ahead, but I don't see it that way.

A team can go 11-1 with an early loss in conference to a team that ultimately finishes 9-3, and you would say that they were better than the 9-3 team over the course of the season. But, if that 11-1 team happens to lose to the 9-3 team in the CCG, then you throw the season out the window and go with the head to head only.

Whichever argument is more convenient for us, that's the one we latch on to.
