Alright so we all know who it is but question now becomes will he be unanimous or will there once again be that asshole who votes for someone else just because he can?

This guy is just flat out incredible. Probably wakes up on gameday with a smile on his face because he knows he is going to shit on whoever attempts to guard him.

Dakich lol. At least hes consistent.

Larry Bird down. Psycho T next in line.

Wonder if he will get 40 tonight? If this guy was selfish he could put up 35 nightly.

I must be missing something with McDermott. Everyone acts like he is having his best season, and maybe the best college basketball season of the last ten years. Here are his numbers:

2012: 22.9 PPG, 60.1% FG, 48.6% 3Ps, 79.6% FTs, 7.0 RPG, 1.1 APG
2013: 23.2 PPG, 54.8% FG, 49.0% 3Ps, 87.5% FTs, 7.7 RPG, 1.6 APG
2014: 25.3 PPG, 50.2% FG, 43.4% 3Ps, 89.4% FTs, 7.0 RPG, 1.6 APG

Yes, he is playing a tougher schedule. Yes, his team has a (slightly) better record. But if he was why behind Trey Burke last year, I'm not seeing the separation from Jabari Parker or Shabazz Napier.

McDermott can ball, he does everything, 37 points with 2:42 left against nova tonight is a great example of his ability to take over a game. I don't see Parker ahead of him as it is right now, come tournament time whoever stays dominant is dominant IMO.

Simple. Parker isn't even remotely in the discussion first off. He's a worse version of McDermott(right now).

Napier isn't doing what Burke did last year. It was the little ways that Burke carried that team. And in all honesty McDermott could have realistically won last year too but team performance and conference played a role.

Burke was thefloor general of a top flight Big 10 team.

Doug could put up 35 a game if he was selfish. He had 22 in first half today and took 1 shot in like 7 minutes to start the second half. Most guys start chucking to break records. And if they didn't beat teams so badly he wouldn't sit out and could pad stats too.

I'm always suspicious of the next "great white hope". It seems the media is always looking for one. Fredette a couple of years ago, McDermott the last couple of season.

I have to give the man his dues though. From what I've seen, if you take McDermott off the team, Creighton wouldn't make .500 this year.

I know it's tough to separate the tourney from the regular season, but Michigan wasn't a top-flight B1G team. They were the #5 team in the B1G and got smashed in the first round of the tourney. The voting gets done after the Sweet 16, so no one knew anything about their run to the title game.

If you compare Napier's stats to Burke, you'll see that Napier has better stats, on a team that is likely heading to a 5 seed (Burke's Michigan was a 4). And while McDermott's schedule is better, the second best team they have played this year is probably Cal. It's not like he has played some world-beater schedule.

The more I think about it, the more I think I'd give it to Napier. He's actually more unselfish than McD (see his assist numbers, as well as the fact that he only played 18 minutes in their blowout against USF and only scored 7 points. McDermott would never take his kid out against a cupcake until he scored 20).

Shit white people want to feel included too!! Lol nah I agree with what you said though, they'd be lucky to hit .500 without him, but I respect the kid a lot, I want to see how he shows up at the dance, that'll prove who is who regarding player of the year.

3 out of the last 5 Pac12 players of the year have gone to CAL. Jerome Randle, Jorge Gutierrez, Allen Crabbe. Justin Cobbs is next.

While you're right about the not getting 20 part since he gets 20 against just about everyone....GW debacle not included. His minutes and shot attempts are way, way down against cupcakes/games where they murdered the other team

Napier as a guard of course is going to have more assits. Creighton plays 3 guards so those are the guys that will be getting their assits. McDermotts job is to get the ball if he doesn't have a good shot kick it back out and gibbs finds the open shooter...since they play 5 shooters lol.

Napier actually plays more minutes. Doug shoots better in all aspects(while 2 of them are extremely close this year) and scores over 7 more points per game.

I mean there is a very real chance he pulls a college version of Durant and goes 50/40/90.

Why would I be angry? All three of those players have done nothing at the next level. Besides I would say the Player of the Year race is between Nick Johnson, Jahii Carson, and Kyle Anderson.

It's a good thing i'm not talking about NBA players, hence why i said pac12 college players.

Anyways i was being sarcastic, If had to give an order for Pac12 player of the year

1. Jahii Carson
2. Justin Cobbs
3. Kyle Anderson
