The High Horse Saloon is long gone.

The ice box beer barns west of the towers in that small strip mall (which may be gone, too) are long gone.

Wilson Center and it's 24/7 gym is long gone.

I doubt the Jockey Strap Saloon is still there. Down on Campus Corner by the old Boomer Theater.
Looking back, it really was a disgusting dirty place. Had a lot of good times in it though.

Wonder what's there now??

Anyone remember Mt. Williams? The old Navy Ammo Backstop on the east side of I-35.

we played intramural basketball out on the base/airfield north of town where the mound was, when I was in school in Norman. don't remember much about it, but seems we were playing in a hangar type facility?

pretty sketchy, at best.

Probably where Max Westheimer airport is now. There's a cafe in the airport that serves a killer breakfast.

ya, it was out there but that airport has been there since before WWII when the Navy took it over. we played in one of the old hangars from the Naval Base days.

interesting article. I didn't know there was another target mound.

When I was in school down there in the 70's you could see a lot of those old buildings. They seemed to be all over the place. I suspect that there isn't 1 left standing today.

ya, they were all over, back then. Norman as still a sleeply little college town, nothing like it is, now. Heck, I remember the OU Press had a book sale and it was all the books you could get in a bag, sack or whatever for $5 and it was in a quonset hut on campus.

Is the Duck Pond still around??

Remember that place well....friend of mine was drunk and thought it would be a great idea to jump in. I had to wade in and pull his sorry ass out. Not a fun night.
