Yeah, honestly play your games on whatever you want to play them on... I just was curious about this software title because it was coming out on console.

Yes, I play games on a console. I guess I prefer knowing that games I buy are going to work because they are made to work with this pre-determined machine configuration, instead of having to install new RAM, Sound or a New Graphics Card every 6-12 months or whatever...

And I'm an IT guy who can easily do that crap myself.... I just don't want to...

And sure, there's games that are designed to play on a PC. XCOM 2 wouldn't be as good on a console, because you'd never be able to easily access all the menus.

But two of the absolute best gaming experiences I've had in the last 5 years were both on a PS4, Witcher 3, and The Last of Us.

My kid still enjoys playing games now and then on a hand held Nintendo. Not my cup of tea, but what the fuck do I care if she wants to play those games?

In my experience, PCs go obsolete for gaming much quicker than consoles... Maybe that's changed?

I try to hold on to my PC's 3-4 years but it's not difficult to upgrade pieces. this time the graphic card burnt out and I was about to get a new one. I don't need to get the most expensive top of the line since the 2nd tier cards are still quite good. But then my loving wife just said "Why don't you just buy a new PC?"...

Done..

The other issue for me was that a console seemed like more of an invitation for my daughter to just play games. At least with a PC you can do more than that..

Although I have nothing against computer games.. I'm probably the largest consumer in the house.

Never said, "More Powerful". My point is they design the games to function with the hardware, so you never have to worry about whether you have enough graphics capability or processing power or memory to run a game. Someone else already worked all that out so it will run with the specs you have, not vise versa...

And not sure where you shop, but I can grab an Xbox One or a PS4 for $299...

And again Microsoft, or whomever, is not going to make a game that requires me to upgrade the hardware... Game companies wouldn't make a lot of money if they did that now, would they?

Difference between you and I is that I really don't give a fuck what you play your games on... I have a PS4 and when I want a game I just have to look for a game that has "PS4" on it and voila!!! I don't have to check to see if my computer has enough video memory or what have you and get a new card to install in order to play it. Someone else already did that for me.... Fuckin' magic, dude!
