The F-1 Season continues to march forward as the last four or five races are coming-up. The Raceway circuit in Suzuka City/Ino, Japan holds their F-1 race. Similar to the Singapore Circuit, the Suzuka City/Ino Circuit has quite a few small turns but unlike Singapore, there is a very long straightway with a slight bend for passing. Should be another typical F-1 race.

Suzuka is one of my favorite circuits to drive in Forza Motorsport and iRacing. Glad to see them back there.

I fear that the old circuits with quirks and challenges are getting chased away for glitz crap like Miami and Vegas and cookie cutter boring tracks like Bahrain and Yas Marina.

Yea 43, NASCAR drivers and fans had a similar complaint about 5-6 years ago. NASCAR's answer: The schedule got two rovals; One at Charlotte and the other at Indianapolis. F-1 doesn't have that kind of imagination. lol.

So the big cap excess story was put on hold today till Oct 10th.

Horner whining away about the story being leaked and being defamatory.

Marko telling Wolff to get over last year.

And then you see where Ross Brawn said in 2019 when the rules were put in place that "the penalties would have teeth if you went over the limit."

lol @ this guy. Not for making the wrong turn. It can happen.

But he actually blamed the car for going where he turned it.

One thing is for sure is that the team that overspent big is Red Bull. Because if it was AM that went way over, the punishment wold have already been thrown down. FIA/F1 is trying to gauge how bad the reaction would be if they have to scrap Max' championship from last year or materially punish RBR for the foreseeable future. They really don't want to.

Personally, I think the solution is to go through accounting and wipe every WCC and WDC point from the moment they overspent forward for 2021. Then they should have to repay the difference in prize money to the teams that they finished ahead of and shouldn't have over the next five years. That money should come off the cap for the offending team and the teams that got cheated should get to overspend the cap by that dollar amount.

And if they find that the overspend benefitted this year's car, that's point deductions this year as well.

If they just fine the offending teams then everyone else will just factor the cost of fines into their budgets.

We have seen this before. Russell and Hamilton dominating the wet tire approach during a wet practice 1 and 2. Lurking in Third is Verstappen. This might be a big week-end for both.

Was waiting to see if Max was gonna get punished for the bobble that almost collected Norris. Of course he wasn't going to be.

Seems I am not alone in loving this track. Emotional farewell to it from Vettel in Quali. And Jenson couldn't stop gushing over it in the booth.

Norris is 100% correct too. Everybody does what he did and if he had done what Verstappen did he'd had been punished.

Verstappen wins the race and is crowned Champion for his 2nd Consecutive Championship. Perez, his teammate, was Second for a Red Bull 1-2 race. LeClerc finishes Third followed by Ocon for Fourth Place. Hamilton finished 5th place.
