Athlon unit rankings have Oregon at 5 nationally at RB and Florida at 10th in WR so maybe Florida is in better shape than i thought from my prior and they have the advantage there.
based on conference positional rankings they have
Oregon at 8th in QB 1 at WR and O line and 3rd at WR
Florida is 2 in QB, 11 at RB 3 at WR and 7 at O line.

so I dont think i was too far off with what i said before.
who is the oregon qb going to be? transfer or someone in waiting....

I’m really curious to see that play out. I think Brown would be pretty awesome executing Moorhead’s offense but maybe they go with the younger guy Slough to build around.

Tough call tbh. Oregon's playoff hopes ride on a new QB and Florida has to get through Georgia.

Oregon definitely has the easier potential road to the playoffs, but they lost a lot of talent from a year ago.

oh, and seeded against OSU? That's an automatic win.
Bama thought that too. Look where they went when they played the Buckeyes in the playoffs. If you aint Clemson, the Buckeyes are sending you home.

so youre saying the pac12 has statistically better defenses than the sec?? ....if you say so, dont take the bet then.

I'm saying that Oregon's 12 opponents are tougher than Florida's 12 opponents.

Tyler Schough was the back up last season. he was the #7 pro style QB in his class. 4* QB
Anthony Brown is the transfer in from BC. he was a 3* recruit but has the most experience on of the QBs now due to having started multiple years.

likely a 2 man race here

after that are freshman coming in
Butterfield 4* #5 rated Prostyle in the 2020 class
Ashford 4* #13 Dual in the class of 2020

behind them on roster is
Millen 3* #14 rated Pro style in class of 19

those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it....
I will think about that and look at the first ever playoff Natty sitting in Columbus. The Buckeyes would like to repeat some history.

I'm saying that Oregon's 12 opponents are tougher than Florida's 12 opponents.
Let's line 'em up and see.

Florida
Eastern Washington
Kentucky
South Alabama
@Tennessee
South Carolina
LSU
@Ole Miss
Georgia
@Vandy
Missouri
New Mexico State
@Florida State

Oregon
North Dakota State
Ohio State
Hawaii
@Colorado
Washington
@cal
Stanford
@Arizona
USC
Arizona State
@Washington State

  • Well neither one of them are "Road Warriors" but that's pretty normal for P5s.
  • Both get most of their "tough" games at home. (Not counting the WLOCP)
  • Oregon's OOC is definitely better than Florida's...even if FSU turnsout to be much better and there are only 3 OOCs instead of 4.
  • While the PAC 12 isn't as strong as the SEC overall, Florida avoids Bama, Auburn and A&M. So their conference schedule isn't a "tough" SEC one either...unless Tennessee and LSU turn out to be real good.
Overall, I have to agree. Oregon's 12 look more difficult than Florida's...even if the SEC is a better conference overall than the PAC 12. JMO.
